Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Opening Week

By Takilya, 12 Sep 2026, 1 min read

Spider-Man

Spider-Man: Brand New Day sold 1,823,990 tickets in the Philippines over its first five days, worth PHP 582.1M ($9.50M). Box Office Mojo estimates the same window at around PHP 570M ($9.30M), so two separate methods land in nearly the same place. I got my figure by reading public booking pages before showtime and counting the seats that disappeared, across 9,641 screenings.

Below: how Filipinos buy tickets, which cinemas filled up, and how much we love Spidey.

Each line is one day at the cinema, and it climbs whenever somebody buys a seat for that day. A line goes flat when its day is over. The lines climb on top of each other, which is the thing worth seeing: on Friday night the country was buying Friday tickets and Sunday tickets at the same time, and Sunday overtook every other day in a single afternoon.

One screening in five was a sellout on opening day. By Sunday it was 44.8%, nearly one in two. That is what a hit looks like: not a bigger opening night, but a weekend where turning up without a ticket stopped being an option.
