PH Box Office Update: 10 to 16 August 2026
By Takilya, 12 Sep 2026, 9 min read
Sunday closed the week as the fullest day at 27.7 percent, and with Saturday it carried 42.5 percent of everything the week filled. Spider-Man: Brand New Day led on 511,784 seats in its third week, seven of every ten seats the market filled. UP Cinema 4 at U.P. Town Center ran fullest of any busy room at 75.7 percent across 28 measured screenings.
Observed filled seats for the week, equal to ₱296.4M ($4.83M) in estimated gross.
Five titles opened on Wednesday 12 August. The End of Oak Street took the widest release of them, 62,648 seats at 9.3 percent occupancy and 8.6 percent of everything the week filled, followed by Blue Lock (Live-Action) on 5,445 seats at 3.7 percent, THE DEVIL'S BENEATH on 1,829 at 16.4 percent, Just Javier on 1,631 at 4.8 percent and Nimrods: A Green Day Comedy on 221 at 2.1 percent. A CORTIS concert viewing on Friday ran at 36.5 percent across the 22 screenings Takilya read a ticket price for, 2,313 seats of the 6,336 they offered.
Against the seven days before it the market gave back 586,625 seats and 18.9 points of occupancy, closing at 17.7 percent full. Nearly all of that sits with one film: Spider-Man: Brand New Day filled 634,483 fewer seats in its third week than in its second. Exhibitors went the other way and offered more, 526,399 additional seats across 2,112 more measured screenings than the week before.
The week was front-loaded and then recovered. Monday ran at 23.8 percent, the trough came on Wednesday at 9.6 percent as the new titles arrived into midweek houses, and the weekend closed at 26.7 percent on Saturday and 27.7 percent on Sunday.
10 to 16 August 2026. Each bar is scaled against the 729,055 observed seats across all films.

Scheduled-only titles and zero-seat advance listings are excluded because they do not provide a material weekly update.
These figures are estimates from what Takilya observed. They are not audited distributor returns.
Seats filled and seats offered are read off each cinema's own seat map for a screening. A reading taken more than six hours ahead of the show is set aside, so advance sales are never reported as a full house. A screening counts only where the reading gives a whole seat count against a known room capacity, and each showing is counted once however many times it was read.
Estimated gross is a floor. It multiplies the seats a screening filled by the ticket price observed for that screening, and falls back to the lowest applicable published price where none was seen. For this week 98.7 percent of filled seats carried a directly observed price.
Dollar figures use the 14 August 2026 reference rate of ₱61.388 to the dollar.
Coverage is the 10 chains, 157 branches and 688 auditoriums counted here. Fullest-room claims compare only the rooms that offered at least 2,000 seats across the week and carried at least 20 measured screenings spread over six of the seven days. A room is set aside when more than a quarter of its readings sat at full capacity, because a reading pinned at capacity cannot tell a sold-out house from a seat allocation the cinema had closed. Every total here is a floor built only from the chains Takilya observes.
